YOUTH/TEEN AUDITION INTENSIVE CLASS - FEBRUARY 1, 2025

TAUGHT BY: ALICIA FUSTING

We will audition one on one with feedback and adjustments. Actors will then be paired up with a scene partner and then put the scene on it’s feet with direction. This class will focus on Specificity, Script Analysis, Backstory, Making Strong Choices with the given material & Including a Moment before and after. This class will also work on actor improv skills and how to self tape properly. Self taping - it’s the norm.

DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 2025

TIME/AGES : 10am-1pm for ages 9-13yrs
2-5pm for ages 14 and older

About the Instructor: Alicia Fusting is now in Charlotte after 18 years in Los Angeles. In LA, she was Acting, Head of Admissions @ the The Aquila Morong Acting Studio, and Associate Producing films with Top Producer/ Director/Writer John Putch. She spent 4 years Assisting the prestigious Casting Director Deb Aquila at Cal Institute of the Arts, an MFA Program and 8 Years Teaching as the Head of the Hollywood High Drama Volunteer Program. Currently Alicia is Acting, Producing, Casting, Coaching, and the Head Of Admissions and Teaching at The Donna Morong Acting Studio in Hollywood. Notable credits include: When We Last Spoke, An Angelic Christmas, Break The Cycle, CSI, Castle, Scrubs, & many more.

SELF-TAPING TECHNIQUES - MARCH 1, 2025

TAUGHT BY: JEREMY DECARLOS

Looking for ways to improve your Self Taped Submissions? Casting Director, Jeremy DeCarlos will be leading a seminar to bolster your techniques and teach you how to make your Self Tapes as competitive as possible. The seminar will discuss the following: technology-appropriate digital formats and quality, file sizes, correct use of cameras and lighting. We will also consider the inner workings of the Self Taping audition process and how the process works. Should you Self Tape rather than In-Person? Who sees your auditions and how your audition moves through casting. And, how to lock into those characters with minimal turnaround time. We’ll also have Q&A throughout, so come prepared with any questions you might have!

**This workshop is offered in person or if you would like to audit the class you can do so via zoom. Note: If you are auditing the class you will not be able to participate or ask any questions.

About the Instructor: Jeremy has been a Casting Director at C&J for 12 years. He is also an actor, writer and musician with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Performance. Though born in Florence, South Carolina in the early 1980's, he was raised across the state, in the rural areas of Florence and Marion County as well as Myrtle Beach and the capitol city, Columbia. After earning his BA from Winthrop University, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he has been frequently involved with Actor's Theatre of Charlotte. He has become a notable figure in the artistic community, having earned the honor of Charlotte Magazine's Best Actor in Charlotte Award in 2012, 2013 and 2015

ACTING TECHNIQUES FOR ADULTS - MARCH 8 , 2025

TAUGHT BY: JEREMY DECARLOS

Looking for ways to improve your Acting Techniques? Casting Director, Jeremy DeCarlos will be leading a seminar to bolster your techniques and help teach you how to make your skills as competitive as possible. The seminar will discuss general acting, acting for the camera and techniques and methods of preparation for auditions and callbacks. We will also discuss performance and how to lock into those tricky characters with minimal turnaround time. We’ll have a Q&A throughout, so come prepared with any questions you might have!

**This workshop is offered in person or if you would like to audit the class you can do so via zoom. If you are auditing the class you will not be able to ask any questions. Note: If you are auditing the class you will not be able to participate or ask any questions.

COMMERCIAL WORKSHOP FOR KIDS (AGES 8-12) - may 1, 2025

TAUGHT BY: TONYA BLUDSWORTH

 This in person workshop focuses on commercial audition techniques for kids. Including the importance of on-camera energy, slating techniques, scripted auditions versus improv auditions, using props and how to have a good zoom callback. We will also do some acting improv games that will help increase confidence and listening and reacting skills. 

Class will run for 2 hours so kids have time to do multiple spots and receive feedback. The practical workshop will be followed by a ½ hour Q&A with parents.

This class will be taught by Senior Casting Director Tonya Bludsworth (who has over 25 years of experience in the commercial casting world) with assistance from Casting Associate Chanler Brock.

About the Instructor: Tonya Bludsworth has worked in a variety of roles in the Entertainment Industry over the past 20 years. For over 20 of those years, she has been a Casting Director at C&J Casting working on numerous commercial, film and industrial projects. Beyond casting, Tonya has produced and directed numerous theatrical projects. Her directing credits include: Bad Jews at Actor's Theatre; The Importance of Being Earnest, Philadelphia Story and Miss Firecracker Contest at Theatre Charlotte and Eat The Runt, The Taming and Shiloh Rules with donna scott productions. She is also a playwright who has had two of her original plays (Carrie Ann's Kiss and Least Likely Friends) produced locally.
