COMMERCIAL WORKSHOP FOR KIDS – AGES 8-12 - JANUARY 24, 2026
TAUGHT BY: TONYA BLUDSWORTH
This in person workshop focuses on commercial audition techniques for kids. Including the importance of on camera energy, slating techniques, scripted auditions versus improv auditions, using props and how to have a good zoom callback. We will also do some acting improv games that will help increase confidence and listening and reacting skills.
Class will run for 2 hours so kids have time to do multiple spots and receive feedback. The practical workshop will be followed by a 15 min Q&A with parents.
This class will be taught by Senior Casting Director Tonya Bludsworth (who has over 25 years of experience in the commercial casting world) with assistance from Casting Associate Chanler Brock.

About the Instructor: Tonya Bludsworth has been a Casting Director at Corrigan and Johnston Casting for 25 years. She currently runs the day to day operations and is the head of the Commercial Casting Division. She loves trying to find the right people for every project and guiding actors to their best performance. She has collaborated with top notch Directors and world class Ad Agencies on everything from global campaigns to local productions. Projects include: Home Depot, Food Lion,Duke Energy, Lenovo, NC Lottery, Toyota and many more. In addition to working in the casting industry, Tonya also directs local theatre where she often finds great new talent for the commercial world. Favorite pieces include: The Play That Goes Wrong, Eureka Day, The Importance of Being Earnest and Bad Jews.

COMMERCIAL WORKSHOP INTENSIVE FOR ADULTS - JANUARY 24, 2026
TAUGHT BY: TONYA BLUDSWORTH
This in person interactive workshop will primarily focus on honing your audition skills. We will work on 3 different types of commercial auditions PLUS a cold read if a time allows.
Actors will receive the following types of auditions in advance of the class:
**Improv auditions w/ no scripted dialogue
**Scene style auditions w/ scripted dialogue and multiple actors in the scene
**Spokesperson auditions
After each round of auditions, actors will receive direct feedback from the CD who will provide a critique and suggestions on how the audition could be improved. If time allows, students will be able to audition the piece a 2nd time so they can try to implement that feedback into their next take.

YOUTH/TEEN AUDITION INTENSIVE CLASS - FEBRUARY CLASS TO BE ANNOUNCED
TAUGHT BY: ALICIA FUSTING
We will audition one on one with feedback and adjustments. Actors will then be paired up with a scene partner and then put the scene on it’s feet with direction. This class will focus on Specificity, Script Analysis, Backstory, Making Strong Choices with the given material & Including a Moment before and after. This class will also work on actor improv skills and how to self tape properly. Self taping - it’s the norm.

TIME/AGES : 10am-1pm (Ages 8-12)
2:00pm-5:00pm (Ages 13 and older)
COST: $150
INSTRUCTOR: Alicia Fusting
About the Instructor: Alicia Fusting is now in Charlotte after 18 years in Los Angeles. In LA, she was Acting, Head of Admissions @ the The Aquila Morong Acting Studio, and Associate Producing films with Top Producer/ Director/Writer John Putch. She spent 4 years Assisting the prestigious Casting Director Deb Aquila at Cal Institute of the Arts, an MFA Program and 8 Years Teaching as the Head of the Hollywood High Drama Volunteer Program. Currently Alicia is Acting, Producing, Casting, Coaching, and the Head Of Admissions and Teaching at The Donna Morong Acting Studio in Hollywood. Notable credits include: When We Last Spoke, An Angelic Christmas, Break The Cycle, CSI, Castle, Scrubs, & many more.
